“One day ladies will take their computers for walks in the park and tell each other, “My little computer said such a funny thing this morning”. .”

— Alan Turing

What is the Ambition for Tedd800?

  • Everyone in our town will have a better understanding of its development, of its history and of the heritage resources that are available to them to enjoy.
  • Our school children, Guides and Scouts etc. will know at least 8 major events in Teddington history, have participated in an artistic celebration of them and will know who Traherne, Hales, Blackmore, Barnes Wallace, Alan Turing, Noel Coward, Benny Hill, Lord North, Langdon Down and many other significant Teddington individuals are and what their personal contribution was.
  • More people will have visited and enjoyed our most historic local buildings – the churches, the arts centre, the NPL, the sports clubs.
  • More people will have visited our Royal Parks and river frontage and understand their importance to the existence of the town.
  • More people will have engaged in sport and will continue to do so from now on.
  • The community will have grown significantly in togetherness and we will have established strong bonds to enable more inter group community activities to continue into 2018 and beyond.
